Scuba/Snorkeling

Close to 900 species of reef-dwelling and migratory fish make the diverse bay of Loreto home, creating a spectacular underwater habitat. The bay is also a haven for soft corals, mollusks, invertebrates, mammals, and others. Spend a day with a Professional Association of Diving Instructor (PADI) certified diver in Loreto. You’ll be expertly guided below the beautiful indigo waters of the Sea of Cortez. There is no shortage of diving shops in and around town, assuring that you'll never be without the gear you need for your adventures.
Fishing

Loreto is a world-famous fishing destination, offering prime summer Dorado and Marlin fishing in addition to the literally thousands of species of fish found here. An abundance of fishing charters are available for those who want guided tours. Most of the captains heading charter boats are locals with years of commercial fishing experience. Whale Watching
Each winter season, the temperate waters in the bay of Loreto become home to six species of whale—Fin, Sei, Humpback, Bryde's and Pilot whales, as well as the world's largest mammal - the Blue whale. You can also travel to the Pacific side of the Baja to experience the winter nursery grounds of the mighty Gray whale. In February and March, over 27,000 Gray whales migrate from the Bering Strait each year.
Kayaking

The large marine park that surrounds Loreto has created the opportunity for this life-changing experience. Just give us a call and we’ll arrange for a kayaking tour of the bay and surrounding islands. Guided tours can last anywhere from several hours to several days, and will take you through diverse wilderness, scenic beaches, and dramatic canyons. A number of local tour operators can provide gear, equipment, lessons and knowledge.
Hiking
Several trails await your adventurous side and will lead you through the unique flora and fauna of Sierra de la Giganta including green and blue palms and ancient fig trees. There you’ll see rare species of reptiles and birds. Many of the trails lead to hidden waterfalls and lagoons as if from a fairy tale.
Surfing

Scorpion Bay is located roughly 1.5 hours from Loreto and is home to one of the world's renowned surf breaks. Passionate surfers come from all over the world to experience the surfing and other outdoor activities in this beautiful habitat.
