Celebrate Independence in Chihuahua!

Let the festivities begin in Chihuahua, Mexico! On September 27, 1821 the Treaty of Cordoba was signed and Mexico gained independence from Spain. So, it is tradition to celebrate each year at this time and all of Mexico is getting patriotic!

One of the events this month is the Festival Internacional Chihuahua! The fifth edition begins this year on September 4th and will run through October 1st. Enjoy this colorful month of festivities with over 450 cultural events and acts in Ciudad Juarez and in Chihuahua City.

Do you love literature, dance, the symphony, or rock opera? Well, at the Chihuahua International Festival there is a little bit of everything for everyone! There will be guest performances from Mexico's great performers and other acts from over 21 countries worldwide. Some of the acts include Strange Fruit from Australia, Jarabedepalo from Spain, Esencias from Monterrey, and more!

Open exhibition begin with great guest artists from Spain, Nuevo Leon, Casas Grandes and of course Chihuahua. And the party will end with a treat the talented singer and actress, Sarah Brightman will grace everyone with her angelic voice at the closing concert at 8 pm on Friday, October 2nd in the Estadio Olmpico Benito Juarez.
